As millennials that have experienced one setback after another, many of us may feel a little disheartened as we fail to achieve some of the exciting life milestones that we thought we'd have by now. With housing costs and the cost of living in general becoming more and more out of reach, we may never achieve the same American Dream that we were sold.
But maybe our legacy isn't about success as we were raised to understand it! Maybe our legacy is making sure that the destructive patterns that were passed down to us from generations before don't get passed down to generations after us.
That's the topic of this week's episode of The Millennial Reset- what it means to break the cycle and raise the next generation based on a framework that stems from self-expression, self-worth, and what's true today, instead of what we've been conditioned for in the past.
We're joined once again by licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Abena Berry, as we break down three important concepts:

  1. Understanding how trauma gets passed down from one generation to another, oftentimes completely unconsciously.
  2. Self-help techniques to begin uncovering some of the conditioning and subconscious programming that may have gone unnoticed until now.
  3. How to make sure that toxic generational patterns don't get passed down to our children by effective modeling.

You can follow Dr. Berry on TikTok and check out her new book on Amazon.
