The Unshakeables
The Unshakeables is back for Season 2 — and it’s kicking off with an episode you absolutely won’t want to miss. Listen in as Ben Walter sits with a very special guest: chairman and CEO of JPMorganChase, Jamie Dimon. One of the world’s most respected financial thought leaders, Jamie will connect the dots between the current challenges facing small business owners and the broader financial landscape. And, of course, it wouldn’t be an episode of The Unshakeables if Jamie didn’t share some of the pivotal moments that he overcame to forge ahead in his own career. This season Ben will also be joined by some new co-hosts, all of whom are making waves in business and culture in their own right. In this first episode, you'll hear from Kathleen Griffith, founder of Grayce & Co. and author of Build Like a Woman. The Unshakeables is brought to you by Chase for Business and Ruby Studio by iHeartMedia. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.…

×What is your relationship like to death? Is it something you avoid or something you embrace? In this episode I share some lessons as well as a Mexican folktale that I recently learned from author, poet, and psychoanalyst Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estès. In this work she talks about the Life, Death, Life cycle, and how things need to die in order to be reborn into something new & more aligned. We can’t have life without death. We can’t have death without life. They’re interdependent. Sometimes we hold onto things way past their expiration date whether it’s ideas, relationships, careers, passions, beliefs, etc. And in holding onto it, we don’t give it a chance to regenerate into something deeper and wiser. We fear that once we let it die, it’s gone forever. And that’s just not true. 11:25 - The Life, Death, Life Cycle 25:44 - The Lady Calavera Mexican Folktale (Godmother Death) 44:28 - Takeaways from the story Resources: Women Who Run with The Wolves by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes Theatre of The Imagination by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes About Brittany Pollard Brittany Pollard is a wellness practitioner, trauma resolution coach, mother, storyteller, and founder of Our Wildest Dreams. Welcome to the brand new Our Wildest Dreams podcast!!! In this episode I️ share some general direction of the show shifting from Everyday Intentions to Our Wildest Dreams! There's been a lot of healing and clarity on my side, which is why I️ decided it was time to shift the energy of the show! Our main theme of focusing on small steps on to intentional create what you desire will remain the same, but there's going to be way more depth, truth, and mysticism in this show. This podcast is all about the process of creative emergence and what's possible when we tap into the power of our imagination. I'll be telling stories of visionaries from past and present timelines, old wive's tales (folklore), myths, and bringing on guests who are in their creative expression. My prayer is that as you listen to the episodes you find yourself in one of these stories and come into connection with your own creative potential. Note: Visionary Architect is a term I️ learned from my trauma resolution coach, Rachael Maddox. You can check out her work here: https://www.rebloomtogether.com…

On today’s show I have the lovely Yolanda Williams and we spoke about conscious parenting for Black parents. Which I think is so important and needed because many of us are in a space of wanting to break generational trauma and change generational narratives. About Yolanda Williams Yolanda Williams is a Certified Positive Discipline Coach and Host of the podcast Parenting Decolonized, a show that unpacks how colonization has impacted the black family and teaches parents how to raise liberated black children without breaking their spirits. On this episode I had the pleasure of connecting with the brilliant Tianna Tye on the topic of intentional leadership! In this episode I️ talk about the importance of truly showing yourself gratitude and appreciation for who you are and for being alive. It's so easy to overlook the little things that are privileges, and we forget that being alive is a blessing. I️ invite you to take some time to really sit wit yourself and draw up the feeling of gratitude, so you can learn about what it feels like in your body. I️ covered the most recent Dare II Dream: A 2020 Practical Manifestation Workshop and all of the magic it created for the attendees. It was the most incredible event and I'm so proud and happy for those who attended. Possibility has been opening up for them in the most amazing ways and I️'m honored to watch them take off! I️ give a life update, pay homage to the late Kobe Bryant, Gigi, and the other families who transitioned back to the spirit realm last month. I️t hit the world in the most unexpected way, as death generally does, so if you're feeling some heaviness still take the space to process your feelings. You're not alone. When you choose a path of growth, the spaces you end up in are not by accident. Instead of walking into a room feeling like you’re not qualified, like you don’t belong there, and that you have nothing to offer, remember that you are there for a reason. Your were divinely called to be in that room, to manage that office, and to sit at that table with your unique perspective. When we feel like we’re the most unqualified in the room, it’s an opportunity to learn. Lean into the confidence that you may not know it all now, but you will get there, and the universe is working alongside you to make it happen! In this episode I share: Having confidence and grounding in the fact that you were divinely called to be where you are. Trusting yourself and not putting other people on pedestals. Leaning into your uniqueness and understanding you have a special perspective. Giving yourself props for all of the time, dedication, and heart you’ve put into your personal and professional growth. Have a seat at the table and engage in conversations! Not allowing yourself to be intimidated when you're called to grow. Join host Brittany Pollard on Instagram to keep the conversation going! In this episode I share a simple framework that will help you make in tune and informed decisions using your body. In the digital age where our minds are commandeered by technology, we often forget that we live in and have direct access to the pure intelligence that creates the artificial intelligence. We know more than we think, and when we have a simple question, we have the answer. We’re just not always listening. Inside this episode, I speak about: Our bodies are constantly giving us feedback. The power of slowing down and feeling into an answer. A practice that will help you with making decisions. Choosing what’s in our alignment. In this episode I speak about the energy of the year in terms of Tarot and what the first full moon of 2020 is asking us to do. This year is all about Emperor energy, meaning it’s time to step into our power and own our voices and spaces. It’s a great time to start projects because there’s a lot of opportunity for abundance and prosperity, but to have all of that we must get organized and make space for that goodness to come into our lives. The first full moon is in Cancer this year, and it’s asking us to really tap into what is filling us and draining us emotionally and energetically. It’s time to put yourself and your wellbeing first so that you can bring forth the creative, magic ideas you have on your heart. Inside this episode, I speak about: The energy of 2020 as The Emperor. Reclaiming agency of your power, authority, and leadership. Creating structure and organization in your life for things to go smoothly. The first full moon of 2020 is calling us to nurture ourselves and our emotions. Finding ways to release repressed emotions for mental and physical health. Taking time to tap into your body to listen to what it needs. Creating a list to really see what fills you up emotionally and energetically vs what depletes you. Happy 2020 y'all! I️n this episode I️ talk about the word I've chosen for this year, consistency, and how we as a collective can lean into being more consistent with our goals, dreams, and ideas for the year. I️ also talk about following impulsive and intuitive thoughts and not sitting on them and letting the moment pass by. When something is on our heart, instead of second guessing it, let's follow it and see what happens so we don't get caught up in feeling like we let ourselves down. I️ also talk about my upcoming event, Dare II Dream , which is a 3-hour practical manifestation workshop designed to help us create and plan our 2020 vision. About Dare II Dream Dare II Dream is a workshop designed to help you create your big bold 2020 vision and the path to manifest it. Through guided conversation, a sound meditation to release subconscious blocks and fears, and the creation of a focused intention and action plan, you will have the blueprint needed to dust off your dreams and make them your reality. Start the new year, and the coming decade, with clarity and connection to your goals! This workshop was created out of a love for seeing people grow and creating what they want to see in the world. As a professional in the personal development field, host Brittany Pollard has come across thousands of people who have the most brilliant dreams, but don’t follow through because they don’t have a plan, support, or the belief system to bring them fully out into the world. They end up living in cycles of confusion and suppression, with lives that are undefined and unfulfilled. Dare II Dream is a home, a nest, for people who are seeking a nurturing space as they do the work to fully show up to life and bring their ideas to fruition. This workshop is for the person who is: Tired of living the same year, every single year. Ready to trust in their abilities and cultivate self-confidence. Excited to set real, tangible goals and commit to seeing them fully. Looking for a supportive community to brainstorm ideas and uplift each other. Ready to live the best year of their life. 18yrs and older What to expect: Community talks on what practical manifestation looks like and how to make it as easy as possible. A guided sound healing meditation, designed to help you release subconscious blocks and step into the vision you have for the new year. Inspired action planning and creating an outline of your first or next steps. 52:59This episode brought me so much joy. I interviewed my friend and former trainer, Jabbaar Tobios and our intention for the episode was to talk fitness, but we dove into mindset and overcoming obstacles for a good portion of the episode. I’m totally good with that since making the choice to do what you want to do, regardless of what you see or experience is self care! We spoke about allowing our struggles to just be apart of our process and continuing on the path of what we want, and we also dove into easy ways beginners or de-conditioned people can start their fitness routines! About Jabbaar Tobios Jabbaar 'PHIT' Tobios is an entrepreneur, Nationally certified personal trainer, and the owner of Phitlossophy Gym in Long Beach, Ca. In this episode I share my first guided meditation, “It’s Okay to Slow Down”. It’s about 12 minutes long, and the goal is to create time and space to sit, be still, and relax. I was inspired to create this meditation because connecting to stillness can be tough to do given how quickly the world moves. This is for those of you who need a moment to “woosah” so you can release unnecessary stress and tension in your body. The meditation starts at about 6:40. Enjoy!
