Are you really hard on yourself? Do you have high and unrealistic expectations? Do you criticize yourself anytime you make the smallest mistake? Are you a perfectionist? Do you beat yourself up and speak harshly to yourself? Are you your own worst critic?

When you’re a high-achiever who struggles with anxiety and/or high-functioning anxiety, it’s common to be particularly hard on yourself. You might even think it’s motivating you, or you might have tried to change it and been met with difficulty. The tendency to be hard on yourself can be deep-rooted, and in this episode I’ll be discussing why that is, and what you can do about it.
