Travel Influencers Get Real (Interview With Camille & Jean) - Behind The 'Reel' #3

To be honest, this interview really surprised me. For episode 3, I spoke to travel influencers Camille and Jean about the reality and pressures they face when it comes to social media.

Their feed is inspiring, but at the same time I think it would be quite easy for some of us to compare our current lives to the travelling lifestyle they live. Also their relationship, would we compare the reality of our own relationship with what we see of theirs on social media?

Going 'Behind the Reel' really emphasised just how real these two are. I've been lucky to know them for a few months prior to this interview, and I really wanted them to share their story, the challenges they face and the 'normality' of their day to day life.

We spoke about:

- How they became travel influencers

- The judgement and rejection they received when leaving their 9-5

- Arguments. Yes, they have them.

- Their thoughts on social media. Is it fake or real?

- The fear they have around how they're perceived online.

- What they've learnt from travelling

- Building a brand and balancing sponsorships

It was such a pleasure to sit down with these two, and I hope it showed a different side to the two people we may stumble across on Instagram. Again the main purpose behind this series is to show influencers in a light we might not see them from what they share on social media. Social media is very much a highlight reel, and we often forget these are humans behind these profiles.

These two continue to inspire me, and hopefully they inspire you too.
