As an author, how can you share your work with the world? What happens when you invest hours into creating your book but no one’s reading it? On this week’s episode of the ROI Online Podcast, author Aaron Gendle shares his tips for using podcasts to spread the word about your book and find new readers in unexpected ways.

Aaron was in the prime of his life. Strong. Fit. He even owned a gym. Then, suddenly, he found himself wrestling with a chronic health issue that turned his world upside down. He had recently undergone several major life changes, from moving across the country and selling his business to having a second child and starting a new job. The experience helped Aaron realize that health isn’t just physical. Your stress and mental state have a tremendous influence on your overall physical health.

Aaron identified 10 things in his life that needed to change for him to regain control of his health, and the experience inspired him to share his journey in a book. His book, Conquest: 10 Simple Steps to Conquer Life and Leave a Lasting Legacy, has since been featured in podcasts and on Amazon’s Best Seller List.

After becoming an author, Aaron branched out of his comfort zone and started a podcast, Daily Author, where he interviews other authors every day. His goal is to help authors share their story with the world by providing them with a platform.

Over the years, he’s met countless authors who have incredible stories but just don't have the technical expertise or the experience to pull it all together. So he created his agency, Daily Authors Agency, to help authors get consistent guest podcasting gigs so they can reach the audience their book deserves. He also created a company called Review Karma designed to provide authors with a strategy they can follow to get more book reviews.

When it comes to selecting the best podcasts to promote your book, Aaron has some tips: be open with your schedule, focus on quantity over quality initially, and use your social media platforms to establish connections with other authors and podcasters. His next big focus is to build a team. Aaron believes that much of what we want to achieve as entrepreneurs we can't do all on our own, and by inviting others into your passion, you get the chance to give back and use your experience to further others’ careers.
