What do you get when you cross the Hollywood tropes surrounding mentally ill women with the can-do indie spirit of regional horror films? This episode, of course! Taking a cue from both Kier-La Janisse's "House of Psychotic Women" and Stephen Thrower's "Nightmare USA," Aria and Lori discuss the ways in which depictions of "female PsYcHoSiS" are represented in films that exist beyond the pearly gates of studio filmmaking, with explorations of "Pigs" (1973), "Let's Scare Jessica to Death" (1971), and "The Witch Who Came From the Sea" (1976).
