Welcome to Pain Relief Path! I am Dr. Pan Zhang, Physical Therapist turned Chronic Pain Coach. In this channel, I talk about all things chronic pain, and most importantly, how to get you on the path to your pain free life. I coach my clients through education, exploration, and empowerment to help them live the life they want and deserve. I'm also privileged to have guests from all different disciplines to talk about different aspects of life that contribute to chronic pain.
When you've had chronic pain for a long time, it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. One of the most common questions I get: What is it going to look like when I'm out of pain? What does success look like?
Although this may look different for everyone, the most common theme: Is that it's sneaky. When you have chronic pain, progress is slow, so slow, in fact, that sometimes it's hard to realize that you've gotten to the end of the tunnel! Success happens when you've stopped focusing on the pain, and one day, just wake up and realize it is no longer ruling your life. There usually isn't a big celebration, and sometimes, its time for you to shed the identity you had built around your chronic pain self, and that can be hard!
