Welcome back to Lora's Lounge, where we're no strangers to deep and meaningful conversations. Just like me, you might still carry the scars from the toxic 90s diet & tabloid cultures that manipulated our relationship with food, body image, and mental health. In this episode, I open up about my personal past struggles with body dysmorphia and disordered eating, a poignant reminder that the pursuit of perfection is a futile endeavor. We'll talk about the transition from the 90s 'heroin chic' look to today's unattainable, surgically-enhanced figures, and how things have changed (and how they haven't). As we look at society's relentless pressure to conform, we also celebrate the beauty of body diversity and the importance of recognizing our unique individuality. I was in my feelings about growing up in the 90s and what it did to my brain, and I wanted to speak on it because I've met countless women who have felt the exact same things. This stuff should be talked about more because you never know who may be listening or whose life you may touch by sharing your journey. Thank y'all for being here! Let's make a great day and keep striving to be our best selves.
