Episode 238 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features a great conversation with Matt Tomkins, who made his NHL debut and recorded his first NHL win with the Tampa Bay Lightning earlier this season, more than 11 years after being drafted into the NHL.

In that feature interviews presented by NHL Sense Arena, Tomkins walks us through a memorable start to the season, including getting to soak in a chance to play in Montreal before picking up his first NHL win in the Mecca of goaltending. We then rewind things to go through a sometimes winding and unique path to that first NHL opportunity, from being drafted by the Blackhawks, choosing college hockey over the CHL and why that became so important for him, to deciding to go overseas to Sweden for two years, the decision to come back, and an important summer in Kelowna with "friends of the program" Lyle Mast and James Wendland that helped prepare him for the season's opportunity with the Lightning.
