In this episode, host Holly Cotton and Dr. Pierre Johnson aka The Fibroid Slayer, talk women’s health. Specifically fibroids. Dr. Johnson breaks down what a fibroid is, how they are treated, his mission to preserve every woman’s uterus and how black women are disproportionally more affected with less optimal outcomes. Dr. Johnson’s speciality is minimally invasive gynecological surgery and manages some of the most difficult cases. His expertise is shared around the world as his patients fly from all over to seek his help.
Dr. Johnson has dedicated his life to fighting to end healthcare disparities through education and is also the co-author of Pulse of Perseverance. He has a nonprofit organization that seeks to support youth through mentorship, exposure, and scholarships and empowering young black youth to work towards their goals.
