Dr. Jo Yi... Man, this guy is one of my favorite follows on Instagram and he was definitely a blast to interview for today's episode. His knowledge, personal experience, and passion runs deep. CONNECT WITH DR. JO
Dr. Jo is also known as the Street MD. He says he's someone who BARELY made it through medical school. He says, it was not from a lack of effort, but from a burden he carried since he was a young man. This burden was a fear of living a life without purpose and the weight of it was too powerful to overcome. He felt crucified physically, mentally, and spiritually. When he started med school, the journey he had embarked on was sucking the life out of him from every angle imaginable. Though, his intentions were pure. He wanted to become a doctor who could help create change. However, the only thing changing was his soul descending into a deeper and darker entity. He took a 3-year hiatus to pursue music, find his purpose and soul, and attempt to land a record deal. When he found himself slowly slipping from his life's purpose again and with an empty wallet, he returned to medical school. Now, Dr. Joseph Yi is board certified holistic psychiatrist in addiction medicine and he's the owner of a pure heart and a really dope soul. That I can attest to.
