Episode 137 - Health Heroes! Boy am I excited to share with you this amazing episode with Dr. William Davis as we go deep into the foundation of gut health! Can you imagine a world that was completely pristine and free of man made chemicals? Well that wasn't too long ago for the most part. After World War II the chemical companies needed to stay in business so they started making more chemicals, plastics, pharmaceutical drugs, fertilizers, ect. A German microbiologist Gerhard Rueter spent most of his career trying to understand the gut microbiome.

Lactobacillus reuteri or L. reuteri was named after him. So what's the big deal? This microbiologist noticed that starting in the 60’s this very important microbe in our gut was disappearing and now 96% of us don’t have it. Why has it disappeared you ask? Chemicals have killed it. So what is so cool about this episode is that Dr. Davis has figured out a way for us to get massive amounts of this bacteria and others back into our gut and the results have been outstanding.
