In this episode I have the pleasure of talking with an inspiring entrepreneur who makes her home in Florida, but originally came from the Island of Jamaica. We discuss how she started her family business work, and what she used as inspiration to not only launch, but grow and scale! This and much more, with the Co-Founder of Her-Mine Box, Trudy Armand!

Trudy was born on the island nation of Jamaica. She moved with her family to Miami, Florida when she was 12 years old.

Her mother Pam owned a number of different businesses from real estate to eCommerce. Her aunt Hermine was an award-winning Architect and business owner.

Following closely in her family’s footsteps, Trudy started her very first business at age 16 selling homemade cheesecakes. Her next venture was life-like floral arrangements that she created, and finally Trudy started an event design business. Between all her business ventures, Trudy worked full-time, obtained her undergraduate and graduate degrees, got married and had two daughters. Think you’re busy? Lol

In August 2019, Pam's baby sister Hermine Ricketts-Carroll passed away after a long illness. Hermine was also Trudy's favorite and beloved aunt. Pam and Trudy decided they wanted to do something to honor Hermine's memory and to share the support and unconditional love she expressed to them. After some deliberation, they landed on the concept of a women's self-care lifestyle box primarily curated from women-owned businesses! The HER-MINE Box was born. Her-Mine of course being the name of their late beloved sister/aunt Hermine. This ensured her legacy would live on.
