EPISODE 63 In today's episode, I'm sharing my top tips on how to find joy in the journey. Many times we think something will magically change once we reach our destination. "After I lose five pounds, I'll feel more confident." "Once I get this promotion or finish this big project, I'll have time for myself." But, will we? Does something actually change in that moment where we can finally relax or does something else just become the focus? In my experience, life does not wait for us to reach some magical moment. Instead, it's about learning to enjoy and appreciate the journey rather than just aiming for the finish line. This week, I challenge you to take two to five minutes every day to sit with your own thoughts. Take time to think about what you are grateful for, what went well, what was challenging, etc. Then take time to pray, journal, meditate, or talk to someone. Connecting with yourself will truly change how you experience life. This episode is for you if: You think you will be happy once you finally reach your goal You are looking for tips on how to find joy in the journey of life You are ready to be intentional with connecting with yourself You are strong. EPISODE 62 The holiday season is full of family gatherings, parties, delicious food, and awesome moments that we really want to be present in. But these scenarios can make sticking to our fitness goals seem really hard. Well, I'm here to tell you that one meal or one day will not undo all of your hard work! Holidays are much more than food. They're about the quality time with our loved ones. Focus on the experience. Most importantly, practice self compassion and let go of the guilt if you do overindulge. You're human. It's ok. It's part of the journey. To prepare yourself for the holiday season, I challenge you to get a sticky note and write, "One day will not derail my progress." Stick this note on your mirror or somewhere you are guaranteed to see it every day! Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. Don't let one day hold you back. EPISODE 49 In this episode, I'm bringing up a topic of conversation I have been having with members lately - how to handle hurt people when they are hurting you. Something that I have learned is that when someone does or says something that hurts my feelings, it is usually a reflection of how that person feels. They want to spread the hurt and for someone else to feel what they are feeling. So today I'm sharing the advice I give to others when they are in this situation and ask me for help. This week, if you're feeling sad or upset about something that you just cannot shake, I challenge you to grab it where it hurts - literally (your stomach, neck, heart, etc.) - wherever you are holding your hurt and throw it as far away from you as possible. I know... it sounds silly. But I tried it and I felt so much lighter afterwards! Just trust me (and the writers for Bluey). This episode is for you if: You are looking for ways to handle hurt people who are hurting you You are ready to distance yourself from a toxic friend group, but don't know how You are interested in adding to your tool belt on ways to deal with strong or lingering emotions You are strong. Jenny also answers my fun questions about what her personal theme song would be and a new skill she'd like to learn. This week, we challenge you to take the pictures! No matter where you are in your fitness journey, document the process. Hide them from others (or yourself) if you have to! You just might surprise yourself when you're not seeing any progress and decide to take a look at how far you've really come. In this episode, I explain just how important it is to place boundaries around your relationships and to NOT let yourself feel guilty about it!
