The title of our podcast is pretty straightforward. We are looking to hear God in Scripture. We believe proper hermeneutics is rare, that is, the ability to properly read the Bible is not commonly known or practiced. We believers are commanded to know and study the Scriptures. We should also study to properly understand what they say. These Scriptures are God’s words to us. God spoke to us. Now we need to read them right. Not only did God speak, He still speaks. We shouldn’t just read the Scripture to pull it apart and examine it, we should be listening to God, listening for His voice as we read the text. Our hermeneutic is, “the Text is the Master”. We submit to the text. We do not have the right to twist it around to make it say what we want it to say. Rather, we discover what God is saying to us through His Word. Then we submit to whatever He says. So, hear God in the Scriptures. That is what we are trying to do and we invite you to do this with us.

×The apostles got busy with managing the needs of the early church. They needed help. However, more than needing help, they needed to not neglect the word of God. Do we understand the importance of the word of God as they did? No matter what we do, what part of church we are participating in, where God has us in our work and home life, we, also, need to not neglect the word of God. Acts 6:2 2 And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables. 32:52The early church did hard things, such as disciplining Ananias and Saphira. However, because they did the disciplining, and did it well, they remained pure. The result was that they were a powerful church, and everyone around them could see it. God intends to make us into a powerful church, just as He did the early church. Acts 5:13 13 None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. 27:03This amazing verse points to how important God’s word is. God Himself treats His word so highly. We should treat it as highly. Psalm 138:2 2 I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.
