011. The Future of Health Begins with Our Kids with Dr. Qadira Ali Huff, MD, MPH, FAAP, DipABLM
Manage episode 274533078 series 2807141
Dr. Qadira Huff, MD, MPH, FAAP, DipABLM discusses the importance of instilling healthy living early on in children to help prevent chronic disease, like childhood obesity that can put any person, kid or adult, at higher risk of severe COVID19 illness during this pandemic. Dr. Qadira addresses exactly this in her current medical practice as a pediatrician and in her new venture called Sprouting Wellness to coach families along the journey towards adopting healthier lifestyles. We get into her work and a wide variety of topics from her Masters in Public health at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health where she focused on food systems and health disparities, to how social inequalities play a role into healthcare inequalities, and to whole food plant based living. I hope this talk helps you take action in your own health, the health of our children and the fight for social justice.
