Freedom in Forgiveness: How Letting Go Liberates Your Life

We’re taught the power of the word ‘sorry’ from a very young age. Apologising to someone when we’ve hurt them or upset them is something that is instilled into our minds as a necessary part of every one of our relationships, whether it’s a friend, family member, or even stranger.
But whilst most of us are pretty comfortable with the ‘sorry’ side, it can be difficult to be the person on the receiving end. In this week’s episode, we’re embracing the power of forgiveness, and I’ll share the incredible freedom and liberation that can come from letting go of those emotions! We’re hardly ever taught how to forgive someone, so it’s understandable that it’s not always something that comes naturally. Especially for women who hold themselves to an impossibly high standard, it can feel like a total loss of power and control in that particular situation. We also worry that if we forgive, it means we condone those actions that have hurt us, and there’s a risk of the cycle repeating itself. But there is a deep power in recognising that forgiving doesn’t mean forgetting, and holding on to anger and sadness isn’t emotionally healthy for you in the long term. I’m sharing my best strategies to get you comfortable with clearing your energy and releasing resentment so that you can find true emotional freedom. It takes a strong person to say sorry, but an even stronger person to accept that sorry!
