Keegan Hipgrave is a retired rugby league player who played in the National Rugby League (NRL) for the past 7 years. He had the best time in his career but unfortunately, the three big concussions that he had led him to where he is now. After discussions with neurologists and his family, he decided to retire from the NRL. Playing rugby was his passion, but he also considered his priorities. He wants to have meaningful work and relationships to become a good partner, good son and a good dad someday. So continuing to play rugby league is going to detriment his values and what he wants to do.
Now, he’s pursuing his passion by talking to sports experts regarding athlete’s mental health in his podcast. He is also an athlete manager and brand ambassador. Exploring the emotional rollercoaster and identity crisis that can arise after leaving a professional sports career, Keegan offers insights into finding new purpose and fulfillment in life. His story serves as an inspiration to all, reminding us that even in the face of adversity, we can find new paths and build fulfilling lives.
