Time and time again, we’ve always made it clear that we have to be careful when we talk about someone’s condition, especially if we don’t fully understand it. Being careless can only do more damage, even if your intentions were to provide support for them.

The same goes for providing support for people who have PTSD. There are a lot of misconceptions about the condition, and being careless about it won’t be helpful for people who have PTSD.

In this episode, Becky shares her story with PTSD, why it’s important to understand the condition, and how you can provide helpful support.

Episode Highlights:

  • The dangers of misconceptions around PTSD
  • Becky’s experience with PTSD
  • Why a diagnosis can be helpful to validate your experience
  • Why it’s important to understand what traumatizes a person
  • The “All Trauma is Valid” Attitude
