Just a quick question. do you believe there is something as a talented runner? Sure, yes.. its not a trick question… but sounds about right. Some runners are more talented than others or is it some runners are more talented in some areas … more than others.

And some people think this is due to.….or hang on let me put it into perspective. A decade or so ago, if you asked the top scientists what separated top athlete’s, the answer would be simple, genetics.

Then it shifted this viewpoint…that while talent may play a role, it turns out that circumstance and hard work are the deciding factor. A reason for this change was the 10.000 hour rule. The 10,000 hour rule basically states that it takes around that time to that master a particular skill.

So that would be 2500 4 hour marathons, or 25 years of running if you practice 8 hours a week, 50 weeks a year. LoL

That can’t be right, can it? So is it Talent after all?

Talent which many want to believe comes from a endurance gene.

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard” . This neat quote from Tim Notke says coasting isn’t an option. Of course you’ll need time when you rest and recover, though if you’re going to make the most of your talent you’re going to have to work hard

God bless you, share the show give it a like, and remember… take it easy.
