Manage episode 363973948 series 3011006
90% of people in a work place pension in the UK are in a ‘default’ fund. Which may not be the right place for you. In this episode we are going to walk you through how to be intentional with your choice of pension fund.
- We will share the 3 key pieces of information you need to start with.
- Know if your pension has “lifestyling” and why you might want to change that.
- You will then be able to narrow down what initially seems like an incomprehensible list of funds to a few choices.
This is the 2nd episode in our pension series.
The team provide valuable insights into the various types of pension funds available, such as defined benefit plans and defined contribution plans.
Julie will give you the key words and phrases you are looking for. And some top tips on how to identify which funds you should consider, and which ones to avoid.
Kat shares some tips on how to understand the charges for each fund. Because we want low charges, so you get to keep more of the investment growth!
And Emily talks about your options for sustainable and ethical funds. And shares Tumelo with us.
While Michelle explains the difference between passive and active funds.
We end with the message of how to take action and not to fear getting it “wrong”. Follow our steps and you can’t get it wrong.
