My special guest today Nina Helene Hirten is a cinematic editor and multimedia artist in Los Angeles, California. Lead Editor for Bento Box Entertainment LLC, & Fox Entertainment since May of 2019. Some of her recent notable work, serving as editor for Amy Pohler’s animated series Duncanville, Universal’s Curious George: Royal Monkey, and Pre-visualization Editor for mega movies such as Ant-Man and the Wasp, Venom, Jungle Cruise and Godzilla vs Kong. In addition, she edits indie projects in the genres of animation, horror, drama, and more. Currently, Nina is lead editor on Fox’s hit animated TV show, Grimsburg starring Jon Hamm.
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree is considered to be the most prestigious bachelor's degree received in the visual arts.
Nina earned a BFA in Film from Ryerson University in Toronto. Then she edited and composed the music for the feature documentary, Citizen Marc, as well as edited a number of short indie films, music videos, and documentaries in Canada. Nina Served on the board of the Canadian Cinema Editors for 6 years.
Born in New York City, and educated in San Francisco, Stuttgart’s Technical School of Media (HdM) in Germany, and Toronto, and now living in L.A., Nina has powerful international eyes and ears for all aspects of film and media. She is a member of IATSE Local 700 and is actively involved in a number of editing and animation communities in the L.A. area.
While living in Vancouver as the owner of OH JUST PEACH Studios we worked together on 3 You tube commercials from 2011 to 2013. Nina was excellent to work with & appreciated her professionalism in producing my voice for her commercials. The commercials were based on home renovations, Tile Jax 1 & 2 & also Wrap & Save.
