Various factors, including a lack of support and the so-called “Hero Complex” among veterinarians, can contribute to the loss of passion and emotional exhaustion in the veterinary profession. This week, Dr. Mark Johnston from the not for profit “Vets in Mind Alliance” discusses the challenges of burnout in the veterinary field and emphasizes the importance of having a community to support mental health among vets and the recent availability of and signposts to some triage tools available via the Vets in Mind website.
