In just under 11 minutes, Northeast president Ricky G. Ford thanks everyone for the calls, texts, letters, and concerns over the passing of his mother last week. In a heartfelt message, Ford expresses thanks to the Northeast family for making sure his family was comforted in this time of sorrow. In an update to the Strategic Doing committees, Ford talks about the total involvement that everyone has on the Strategic Doing committees and the ability for everyone on campus to have a voice through the committees. In keeping with his legislative update from last week, Ford discusses the upcoming pay increase that the Mississippi legislature has set aside for community college employees and after the 15 community colleges in the state get their share of the $11 million allocated...it comes out to a 3% across the board raise for all Northeast employees. In addition to the pay increase, Ford is thankful to the legislature for setting aside $7.5 million for Northeast for capital improvements and renovations. In a construction update, Ford talks about the Outdoor Classrooms, the MDOT Phase II Project, and the ongoing renovations to Seth Pounds Auditorium. Ford also discusses all the open positions that the college has after the announcement of 11 retirees for the 2021-2022 academic year and encourages anyone to apply for those positions and become part of the Northeast family and a member of one of the premier community colleges in the United States plus many more topics concerning Northeast Mississippi Community College.
