About Chris Paton:
Managing Director of Quirk Solutions | Professional Speaker | Best Selling Author | ex Royal Marines Lt. Colonel
Chris Paton has been the Managing Director of Quirk Solutions for the last 11 years. Quirk is a management consultancy which specialises in organisational culture, people development and transformation. He has worked with brands such as Unilever, Shell, Heineken and Waitrose, as well as with the NHS and the Home Office, but mid-market organisations are his specialty.
In his former career Chris was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Marines and saw active service for over 18 years. One of his senior roles was Head of Strategy on Afghanistan to the David Cameron Government, and he was responsible for the extraction of all UK combat troops and their equipment from Afghanistan from 2010-2012. He deployed on combat missions in a wide range of places including Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Georgia and Afghanistan.
Chris is a highly regarded and skilful facilitator, who has worked with C-suite teams from the Fortune 500 and FTSE 250, across a wide range of sectors. He uses 30 years of experience in gamification, alongside storytelling and a highly interactive approach, to give teams rich learning experiences.
He has delivered business gaming workshops to Mercedes, The Dubai Expo 2020, Lloyd’s of London and Drax Group.
His focus is on enabling organisations to become higher tempo, through greater empowerment and accountability – connecting teams and enhancing their understanding of one another. With Quirk, Chris has developed a cultural diagnostic tool - helping organisations get a much clearer picture of themselves and enhancing due diligence for M&A.
Chris compiled and wrote the Amazon #1 US and UK bestselling book ‘Purposeful People’ in Apr 2021, with all funds raised being donated to charity.
In 2010 he co-authored an article on; How the Royal Marines Plan in the Face of Uncertainty; which was published in the Harvard Business Review, and in 2018 he was published in Strategy Magazine for an article on Strategic Agility.
Bi-lingual in French and with a Masters Degree in International Liaison and Communication, Chris is also a Fellow of the Strategic Planning Society and has lectured on the London Business School’s Executive Education Programme.
