Length: 57 minutes
Synopsis: This evening (11/27/24), in our Wednesday night Tehilim/Tefilah shiur on Erev Thanksgiving, we commenced our in-depth analysis of the blessing of thanksgiving: Modim! We began with a 15-minute review of my "MMMMMMM!" method of tefilah analysis. After that, we spent the rest of the shiur figuring out the reading and translation of the berachah - a task more difficult than people might imagine! Although we only barely had enough time to start our proper analysis at the end, we picked up on lots of ideas and insights along the way. Next time, we'll do some serious analysis, guided by the Abudarham.

The Torah content for the remainder of November has been sponsored by Ed Zack. When I asked him for a sponsorship message, he replied, "MAGA." While I appreciate the support, I told him I'd prefer to keep things less politically divisive. After some discussion, we settled on something we can all agree with: Make America Think Again.
