In this episode, I have the pleasure to introduce to you for the first time, a Subscription Box Show exclusive if you will. Egypt’s first and currently only subscription box, all the way from Cairo Egypt, co-founders and Epgyption power couple, Halim and Sherihan Hassabo of AV Tree and now AV Tween!
Think you have it hard or difficult in your country or where you live? Imagine wanting to start a business in a place where no one knows what a subscription box even is! Starting a business is hard enough. But the hardship of introducing a new business structure is a whole other beast. And that’s exactly what Halim and Sherihan were up against At that point, Egypt’s ecommerce market hadn’t ever seen the subscription model yet.
One of Halim’s and Sherihan’s jobs was to introduce a foreign concept to a new market, and try to grow it and be profitable.
Well against all odds, that’s exactly what they did. Halim and Sherihan found a way. And now, they not only have their original subscription box AV Tree that is very successful in Egypt, but they’ve launched another box, called AV Tweens, for yes, tweens. And they’re not done yet. Halim and Sherihan have even bigger goals and to become the subscription hub of Egypt and more!
Since their launch, AV Tree has now grown and been able to partner with mega companies in their niche like; L’Oreal Paris, Versace, Yves Rocher, Garnier, Skincode, and tons more. The list is endless and impressive. How to contact and partner with suppliers is a huge part of our industry, and this couple have mastered it!
