Today’s episode is all about social emotional learning. We’ve recently seen a shift in education moving towards understanding the social emotional aspect to learning. We sat down with Holly Billings, Behavior Support Specialist for the district, Nicole McAdams, 5th grade literacy teacher, and Megan Rainwater, 6th grade counselor. Holly has been a guest on the show before and she is so insightful when it comes to behavioral health and its role in education. Nicole and Megan are coworkers of mine at Washington Middle School. They worked this semester on creating a day where our school focused on social emotional learning. We called this day “Ride the Wave of Kindness Day” and they get into all the details of what this day looked like, how they came up with this idea, and the results they saw from it! We are so excited to discuss this trending topic in education today!
