Manage episode 360434883 series 3466481
We have all felt stressed at one time or another. Whether it was in anticipation of a test in school that was a big portion of our grade or the news that we would become parents for the first time and would be entrusted with a beautiful, young life. Relationships, money, moving, marriage, can all be sources of stress in our lives.
Though not all stress comes from negative circumstances, if not addressed, it can have negative effects on our bodies.
Join us in part one as we talk about acute and chronic stress, some of their causes, and symptoms and complications.
In part two Dr. Mark, Kent, and Adam will talk about how they cope with everyday stressors.
According to The American Institute of Stress:
- About 33 percent of people report feeling extreme stress
- 77 percent of people experience stress that affects their physical health
- 73 percent of people have stress that impacts their mental health
- 48 percent of people have trouble sleeping because of stress
Unfortunately, for about half of all Americans, levels of stress are getting worse instead of better.
