This description comes from Doctor Kristen Neff, the leading expert in self-compassion. And in fact, she conducted the very first academic studies on the psychology of self-compassion.
Today's conversation is all about pragmatic utility and how we can notice and use pragmatism to both feel better in the moment and let go of long term patterns of unrelenting standards and mentally criticizing ourselves.
