How A “Beat Cancer Mindset” Can Help You Build A Successful Business 5 Tips to Gain the Beat Cancer Mindset Chris Wark was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2003 around 26 yrs old. Below is his 5 Mindsets he followed when he cured his cancer. When you read the excerpt below, replace the word cancer or health with business and/or life . Accept total responsibility for your health. Be willing to do whatever it takes. Take massive action. Make plans for the future. Enjoy your life and the process. 1) Accept total responsibility for your health. The first question on a cancer patient’s mind after diagnosis is “Why did this happen to me? How did I get cancer?” Many of the cancer-causing factors in your life can be removed and your risk of getting a recurrence or dying from cancer can be greatly reduced, just by your choices. Your choices matter. People who care about you are going to tell you the truth. Sometimes the truth stings a little, but the truth will set you free. Accepting responsibility for your health starts with considering the possibility that cancer may be your fault. Maybe some bad decisions, bad habits, or ignorance over the course of your life contributed to your cancer. I know mine did. There’s no need to beat yourself up about it or wallow in guilt, self-pity, or regret. Instead, now is the time to evaluate your life, accept whatever part you played, and learn from your mistakes. Now is the time to identify the cancer causers in your life, radically change, and move forward. Taking responsibility for your circumstance empowers you to take control of your life and to change for the better. Every day in cancer clinics all over the world, patients are told that their cancer is probably the result of bad luck or bad genes. This turns patients into victims. You are not powerless and you are not a victim. The health or disease you are experiencing today is largely the result of the diet and lifestyle decisions you’ve made in the past. Your choices matter! 2) Be willing to do whatever it takes. Once you have accepted responsibility for your health, the next step is being willing to do whatever it takes to get well, which means being willing to turn your life upside down, to change everything. If restoring my health meant getting as close to nature as possible by sleeping in the woods in a tent, I was willing to do it. I became a detective, determined to identify and eliminate anything in my life that may have contributed to my disease. I stopped eating to satisfy my appetite and sensual cravings and began eating to feed my cells, restore my health, and save my life. I wasn’t living to eat anymore; I was eating to live. Most cancer patients have a strong will to live in the beginning, but unfortunately, most of them have also been convinced that “doing whatever it takes,” “living strong,” and “fighting cancer” just mean suffering through brutal and destructive cancer treatments. the Beat Cancer Mindset means taking an active role in your health and healing, not solely relying on someone else to cure you. I radically changed my diet and lifestyle. I gave up all the unhealthy food I loved to eat. I did every natural, nontoxic therapy I could find and afford. I faced my fears, admitted my faults, changed the way I thought, reached out to God and asked for help, and forgave everyone who had hurt me. The difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is not motivation. Motivation is unpredictable and unreliable . It is easy to be motivated when you’ve started something new and exciting, but when the excitement wears off so does the motivation, and lack of motivation becomes an excuse for inaction . What keeps people going when their motivation is low is determination. Determination is the force inside you that cannot be stopped, even when the storms of life come against you. Determination is doing what you know needs to be done, whether or not you feel like it at the time. Changing your thoughts will change your life. When I caught myself thinking negatively, I chose to think positively. I chose to speak life out of my mouth and not allow outside influences, fear, and doubt to sway me. When you think and speak this way, you empower your creative subconscious mind to assist you in the process, and you find supernatural strength to do things you never thought you could. Your conscious mind and subconscious mind are powerful. Your beliefs are powerful. 3) Take massive action. The minimal action typically produces minimal results, but massive action produces massive results. Massive Action is radical action. It’s going against the grain. It’s swimming upstream when everyone else is floating downstream. It’s action that draws jealousy and criticism from others. Humans by nature are resistant to change and tend to have a “crab mentality.” If you put crabs in a bucket and one tries to escape, the other crabs will pull it back down. In the same way, people often pull each other down out of envy, spite, or competitiveness. Massive Action may appear crazy to people around you and they may try to talk you out of it, like they did me, but don’t let them. Massive Action is facing your flaws, faults, and fears, changing your whole life, getting rid of everything that might be keeping you sick, and replacing disease promoters with health promoters. Sometimes small changes can produce big results. I love when that happens. But if that’s what you’re hoping for, your hope is in the wrong place because your hope is for a quick fix. That’s not the Beat Cancer Mindset. That’s the Magic Bullet Mindset. And the conventional and alternative cancer industries are both full of people ready to take advantage of anyone looking for a shortcut. Long-term healing requires massive action and a total life change. Point your ship toward Healthy Island and stay the course. Every day of your life is a page in your story. Your thoughts, decisions, and actions each day write your story. Take massive action to change your life and be 100 percent committed to the process. 100 percent is easy. 99 percent is hard. Document every detail of your cancer journey. Journal. Do a video diary. Plan on being well and document what you’re doing so you can use what you’ve learned to help other people once you are well. You need a future goal to work toward, and making plans for the future is very important. The spirit-mind-body connection is a mystery, but something powerful happens when you plan for the future. 4) Make plans for the future. 5) Enjoy your life and the process. Don’t let fear and worry steal your joy. Make a decision to live in the present and to enjoy your life right now. Depression suppresses your immune system. If you’re depressed, fearful, anxious, or worried, it makes you more vulnerable to cancer. Instead focus on things that bring you hope, optimism, encouragement, and joy. Start living your life, really living. There’s an organization for young adult cancer patients called Stupid Cancer and I love their slogan, which is “Get Busy Living.” Even if some of these changes are difficult for you, like quitting smoking, giving up your favorite unhealthy foods, or eating vegetables you’ve never liked, you’ve got to keep your perspective because there are way worse things than vegetables. And when you get well, you can look back and know it was all worth it. Gratitude is the secret to happiness. Count your blessings every day. Don’t focus on what you don’t have. Focus on what you do have. Don’t focus on what you can’t do. Focus on what you can do. Focus on joy, happiness, love, and gratitude and they will increase in your life. Focus on the present and on the things you can do today to improve your health and make your life better. FOCUS A Key To High Performance! Focus, we think the problem is that our brains are distracted, but through the research, Chris found that it wasn’t that our brains were distracted, it was that our brains are OVER STIMULATED! I went to a seminar this past Saturday to see Meditation Master and Mind-Body trainer Ilchi Lee. He was promoting his new book CONNECT. The whole concept of the book is to go inward and connect to your true self, which is where all your true health, happiness and peace comes from! Chris Bailey – TEDx How to focus in a world of distractions This overstimulation is ironically causing us to Crave Distraction! Our brains love these little distractions of social media, bits of information and emails There is a mechanism in our mind called The Novelty Bias – in which our minds will hit us with a dose of Dopamine (those pleasure chemicals) THE BIG TAKEAWAY is that our Minds actually Reward us for seeking out and finding distractions! He found that it takes our minds about 8 days to calm down when we start to detox from all these daily distractions Attention Span Expanded where he could focus more effortlessly, not because he had less daily distractions around him, but that due to his mind being less stimulated, it didn’t seek out distractions! He also got more Ideas and Plans that came to him which hadn’t before, because his mind had a chance to wander more often than it had before “Not all those who wander are lost.” – J. R. R. Tolkien He calls SCATTER FOCUS – research shows that by letting our mind wander it lets us come up with plans and ideas that we wouldn’t other come up with do to being distracted by our electronic devices. (phones, computers, TVs) Couple Tips For You: Next time you are waiting for a meeting don’t look at your phone When waiting in line, don’t look at your phone 2 Fundamental shifts when it comes to our ATTENTION We DON’T need to fit more in to our daily lives! We do so much that our mind never wanders anymore. Stop thinking that DISTRACTION is the enemy of Focus and realize that it is OVERSTIMULATION. 2 Week Challenge – disconnect from technology for awhile. Unplug, Technology Detox like many are calling it today and watch what happens to your ideas that come up * *”The state of our attention is what determines the state of our lives.” – Chris Bailey RESOURCES: Chris Bailey’s TEDx Talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hu4Yvq-g7_Y Ilchi Lee’s website: http://ilchi.com/ Ilchi Lee’s new book Connect: https://www.amazon.com/Connect-Clarity-Expand-Consciousness-Meditation-ebook/dp/B07S93FS42/ref=sr_1_4?…

How Your Beliefs Can Keep Your Mindset Locked The Houdini Jail Cell Story: Harry Houdini, the famed escape artist, In order to build interest in his traveling show, would frequently arrive in a town early and challenge the local jailer to try to keep him locked in a cell. If he couldn’t escape within an hour, he would offer the jailer a $1,000 reward. And always he was able to escape from the jail cell, but one time something went wrong. Houdini entered the jail in his street clothes; the heavy, metal doors clanged shut behind him. He took from his belt a piece of metal, strong and flexible. He set to work immediately, but something seemed to be unusual about this lock. For thirty minutes he worked and got nowhere. An hour passed, and still he had not opened the door. By now, he was bathed in sweat and panting in exasperation, but he still could not pick the lock. Finally, after laboring for two hours, Harry Houdini collapsed in frustration and failure against the door he could not unlock. But when he fell against the door, it swung open! The door had never been locked at all! But in his mind it was locked, and that was all it took to keep him from opening the door and walking out of the jail cell. (Cited in Illustrations Unlimited , by James S. Hewett, p. 225.) by Andy Drish, the Co-founder of The Foundation Example: Yes, I need money to start a business but don’t have extra to risk Now ask yourself the following series of questions. 1. Is this belief True? Most of the time, your initial thought will be ‘yes – of course it’s true.’ 2. Is this belief beyond a shadow of a doubt true? Is it possible there is at least one person on the planet that could prove this wrong? Example: Yes, there are loads of stories of people who have built businesses entirely from scratch… starting with no money. 3. How does this belief make you feel? Example: When I think about this belief, I feel trapped, helpless and sad. I feel like I can’t get anything started because I don’t have any money to risk. And if I risk it and fail, I’ll be in a worse position than before. 4. What would the opposite of this belief be? Example: I don’t need money to start a business if I am resourceful enough. And actually… not having money forces me to only focus on the high value revenue generating activities. So it forces me to be a better business person when I’m starting. How does that opposite belief make you feel? Example: I feel excited, light, and free to move forward again. I feel re-energized and determined to be resourceful and make something happen. Can you feel the difference in beliefs? One belief will cause you to be stuck, likely procrastinating day in and day out. While the other energizes you to push forward and take action. Understanding these beliefs and how they are affecting your life are the keys to creating rapid growth… and living a life where you are free. https://thefoundation.com/…
