Have you ever heard the old saying, ‘you are what you eat’? It’s not just what you eat that makes a difference in your body: it’s the air you breathe, the sun on your skin, and the environment you live in. All of these factors fuel the millions of intricate pathways that keep our bodies alive every single day.
What we do (or don’t) absorb can change the very foundations of our biology as humans.In this week’s episode we start our very first series for the podcast, where we aim to make science simple again! This series is all about breaking down biochemistry and the role it plays in our bodies and in our health outcomes. Biochemistry (the chemistry of all living things) relies on our intake from the world around us to create the energy required for our systems to function. Every system in our body has a purpose, and we’ll be discussing some of the most common biochemical reactions and how they influence our physical health and emotional wellbeing too. We’ll also be diving into which essential nutrients are needed for daily performance, where your body gets these nutrients from, and how they are then broken down and create the building blocks of life. Balance is nature's key to thriving - we also provide an insight on what happens when this balance is compromised, and how you can use holistic frameworks to support and transform your overall health.
We start from the very beginning:
