I am very excited to be sharing my conversation with historian Diego Repenning Lopez. Diego is originally from Chile but has always had a fascination with Russia and the mysterious territory of Siberia. He came to the UK to study Russian at the University of Bristol and has since completed his masters and his PhD there. In this episode Diego will help us understand that there is more to Siberia than extreme weather and Soviet dissidents. We discuss the history of Siberia, how it came to be 'Russian', how it has been governed, its status as a colony and much more.
