They worshiped together at the Temple each day. Met in homes for the Lord Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity - all the while praising God and enjoying the good will of all the people.
As you know times have changed and so has the church. We no longer gather each day in a temple to worship together, but that isn't necessarily a negative thing. Through Jesus, we have become the temple, and can carry it with us wherever we go. However, when we look at the moral landscape of our world today, it's evident that our temples have become shrines of idolatry. We worship money, sex, and power instead of God.
We gather in homes, where the only thing we share is the wifi. Our children are growing up feeling depressed, anxious, and even suicidal, and we fail to notice the signs because we're too busy scrolling and being entertained by the lives of those who are far away. We miss the collapse of the lives of those right next to us.
As the body of Christ, we are called to do life together and shine as a beacon of light in our communities. We thank you, dear God, for allowing us to praise you wherever we go. Please help us to remain focused on you and to connect with one another, so that the world may witness the transformative power of Christ in our lives
