Chloé sits down with founder and owner of Alivio Wellness, Adriana Vargas. They explore accountability as a small business owner, as a new mother, and why children and grandchildren of immigrants often have a deeper sense of urgency attached to accountability.
Adriana starts off by sharing how having a baby has replaced looking for an accountability coach, and how having people depend on her helps keep her on track.
We talk about how Adriana went from managing someone else’s space to having two brick and mortar locations within three years.
Adriana never wanted to own a business, she wanted a 9-5 where she could clock out and go home.
When she started shifting to colonics, she researched and called every colonics studio in NY/NJ.
Adriana came up with a business name first, so she would be able to rent a space.
Went to vitality as a client and then sought a job, and connected with the owner, who eventually asked her to come manage the space.
(Mike, @everydaydetox)
“I never say no.” (11 mins)
“If you believe in yourself and you’re doing exactly what you’re put on this earth to do, the money will follow.” (12)
(15) “if anyone wants to start anything, the first thing you should do is talk about it.”
21:30- To stay accountable to her vision, Adriana got really good at saving, and was saving 45% of her paycheck at one point.
Ask for help, and things flow.
Adriana has always had a certain idea of who she envisioned herself to be, and she’s not afraid to sacrifice to get there.
She makes vision boards at the beginning of every year.
Manifestation comes about by embodying these desired outcome. Act like you already have it, because you do.
Coming from an immigrant family, sacrificing and holding oneself accountable stems from honoring our ancestors and uplifting future generations.
Our immigrant parents and grandparents didn’t have time to waste, and that sense of urgency has been passed down to us.
46:24- Chloé asks how it feels, being part of the generational saga that moved from surviving to thriving.
The juiciness of staying accountable is in visualizing and believing that you are put on this earth to do it. (50)
Give yourself time! (50:15)
“Things always work out for my benefit.” Say it until you believe it. Act like, and you will start to embody it. (50:20)
