For years, we have ignored the impact of trauma in our lives, believing it only affects a select few. But in reality, trauma manifests itself in various ways in our personal and professional lives, from burnout and overwhelm in the workplace to intimacy and trust issues in our personal relationships. Unfortunately, stigma and a lack of understanding have prevented us from addressing it effectively in these areas, resulting in a range of negative outcomes.

In this episode, we have the pleasure of having Heather Lynn Wagner as our guest. Together, we will explore why trauma is relevant today and how it impacts our lives, relationships, and work. We'll discuss the common signs of trauma, toxic behaviors that stem from it, and the importance of becoming a trauma-informed leader. Heather, a trauma-informed coach with over 30 years of experience, will share her insights on trauma-informed leadership, compassion, and how to better manage stress and trauma.

So, let's dive in and learn how we can create a safe and supportive environment for ourselves and those around us.

In this episode, you will hear:

  • 1:41 How she got started in transformational work and why she became a trauma informed coach.
  • 6:16 Holding the space at an early age.
  • 8:48 How Heather would define trauma informed leadership?
  • 14:08 Why it is crucial for leaders to have an understanding of toxic work culture.
  • 17:02 Tips to better manage stress and trauma.
  • 21:56 The importance of being resourced and supported.
