Meet Karissa Williams, a resilient woman who loses a baby at 13, and gives birth at 15 while trapped in an abusive relationship with an addict & drug dealer. When she tries to escape through suicide she is literally saved by her child. She marries a ‘great guy - he doesn’t beat me’ - and gains more than a hundred pounds. Soon she loses her self-respect and her mother to cancer.
