In this episode, I’m delighted to speak with Madeline Reeves, a mother, community builder, and the CEO and Founder of Fearless Foundry. In our conversation, Madeline reflects on her journey to rewrite her mother codes and the importance of self-prioritization for individual and collective healing.

In sharing about how she got to where she is today, Madeline speaks candidly about the painful experiences she’s largely kept hidden from her outward, professional persona. As she expands her definition of mothering, she’s more comfortable owing every part of her identity and challenging assumptions made at first glance.

Madeline is a deeply service-oriented leader, and like so many women, will pour into her family, business, and community before giving back to herself. We discuss how prioritizing yourself shows others that it’s not selfish, and in fact, sets an example for how to mother yourself through the transitions of girlhood to menopause.

However, Madeline brings up that not everyone will cheer for you when you start to expect more for yourself. She shares what happened inside her lineage when she started to break this paradigm and navigate divorce. Her response was to make more space for the people who uplift and empower her, creating a beautiful ripple effect for the girls and women in her life.

We also share recent stories of finding joy and freedom in putting ourselves out there in vulnerable ways. Madeline outlines a helpful mindset shift she leans on when she’s up against her edges, especially as it relates to posting on social media and moving her body. I’m so honored to share Madeline’s story with you and I can’t wait to have her back on for part two (and more!).

You’ll also hear about:

  • (04:59) Recovery, motherhood, and entrepreneurship
  • (24:01) Expanding the definition of mothering
  • (31:19) “Do it like other women are watching.”
