Is It Taboo To Talk About Domestic Violence Part 3
Manage episode 326523553 series 3307574
Domestic violence is not God's plan for families, and it is not taboo to talk about it. We r recognise that it is considered a taboo in many cultures and not just a religious mindset. It could also be cultural, keeping face in a community, fear and reprisal. However, we feel it is essential to discuss the importance of the roles men and women play in a relationship.
In today's episode, Slessor and I continued to look at how husbands and wives should live with each other base on the word of God. We also touched on the virtuous women in Proverbs 31. In most religious circles, women should be silent and stay home moms. However, the book of Proverbs 31 shows us the woman was dynamic, a manager, a faithful bride, a problem solver; she was health-conscious, creative and spent her time wisely. We encourage you to read about her.
Domestic violence is not the will of God for our lives. Women, you are the bride of Christ; therefore, husbands, you ought to treat your wives as Christ treat the church. Just as Christ laid down his life for the church, husbands must protect their wives. Ephesians 5:25-33. Neither party should manipulate one other.
