For lawyer and activist Saimir Mile from Albania who lives in Paris, Romani is a passport with which he meets his brothers and sisters. But we don't just talk about language. We talk about the diversity among Roma, about resistance and the importance of empowerment. And Bill and Saimir discuss what it means to them to be Roma.
Our guest: The lawyer and activist Saimir Mile, originally from Albania is living in France for over 20 years. He is also a linguist and expert in the Romani language. In 2005 he founded the association La Voix des Rroms, within this association he is now heading the legal department for a national syndicate of Roma civil society activists, which is called the “Movement of May 16th”. <https://www.lavoixdesrroms.com/>.
