What can we do as consumers to help support small businesses while the economy grinds to a halt? While the COVID-19 pandemic will be painful for all workers, none will feel it like small businesses do. The CDC is recommending a two-month halt to gatherings, among other guidelines.* Quoting Cathy Merrill in the Washington Post about the CDC’s order:

Two months is not a hiatus; it is a death sentence for small business.

If this crisis goes on for an extended period of time, many of the businesses we love will not survive. Now is the time to help our friends and neighbors who run these small businesses.

This special episode gives a list of ideas to help keep our small businesses afloat. Listen to Episode 170 here or in your favorite pod player, and see more details about some free help that I’m offering to freelancers, creatives, and solo/small businesses.

Show Notes / Links from the Episode

Last week’s episode was about how writers, musicians, artists, freelancers, and solo entrepreneurs can “turn on” new revenue channels during this crisis.

I am offering a free Zoom session to help you set up the following (see mine for examples):

To schedule a free strategy session with me, just ask.

There is no catch, no obligation, and no guarantee of success just a boost to get you up and running and (hopefully) better-positioned for the future. For more details about this offer, please see Episode 169: Surviving the Coronavirus Crisis: Ideas for Small and Solo Businesses.

In the meantime, please be as generous as you can afford. Your community will appreciate you, and that’s how we’ll all get through this together. Thank you.
