"Psychological safety is a belief held by an individual about the extent they feel they can speak up, say what's on their mind, express concerns, even admit mistakes, in a team setting without fear of reprimand or without fear of some social consequence; or maybe we don't want to speak up because we don't want to seem like we're oppositional to the status quo."

Stephan Wiedner from Vancouver, Canada, is a certified Psychological Safety coach. Sixteen years ago Stephan founded Noomii.com, now the web's largest network of professional coaches, with thousands of coaches in hundreds of cities across North America and internationally, including Australia.

Stephan also founded Zarango.com, a flight simulator for business interpersonal skills, where Leaders practice responding to challenging team scenarios.

Stephan's coaching measures what is most important for team effectiveness - psychological safety, and that's our topic for today's conversation.
