Welcome back to the show, mama! Diet culture loves to dish out rules about what your child needs to eat or how their bodies should look to be "healthy". But in reality, rigid rules steeped in diet culture that micromanage your child's body and appetite will not create healthful outcomes over their lifetime. In fact, it can make them more susceptible to disordered eating and poor body image. Be encouraged though, there are ways to shift this narrative in your family and for your children. Listen in to today's episode for ways you can cultivate healthy behaviors in your home around food and bodies that will support your children toward more positive experiences physically, mentally, and emotionally. We're moving away from control and rules to connection in order to develop a trusting feeding relationship with your children that will give them a secure foundation for years to come.
Are you a mother needing more support in healing your own relationship with food and your body? Be sure to check out our free virtual support group and community, Lift the Shame.
