In the Rocky Mountain Review for Thursday, October 17, learn about genetically modified yeast researchers are working with on campus at Colorado State University with Audrey Donow. Then in campus learn about a new technology facility set to open at the CSU foothills campus in the next few years. Then Tyler Weatherwax delivers your local news with information on another pedestrian killed in Fort Collins after attempting to cross East Harmony Road and a Fort Collins chiropractor who pleaded guilty to two crimes. Then after the break, Donow returns for a look at what's to come in Fort Collins this weekend in live events. Then KCSU music directors Ria Janapati and Mia Templien deliver your KCSU weekly gems countdown recap.

For today's feature story, Adam Carlson delivers more information on the events of Wednesday on campus at CSU as students and faculty experienced two shelter-in-place orders on the same day. The first shelter in place was put in place after a student on campus passed away. The second was after an aggravated assault occurred. More details are provided in the Rocky Mountain Review.

After the break, Weatherwax returns to deliver national news including a story on the death of a man in an ICE detention center who's family is now looking for accountability and justice. Then hear about 12 million pounds of meat being recalled in the United States including where the products were sold and how they were delivered to U.S. schools. Finally, for national news, North Korea is receiving increasing criticism from world governments after alleged North Korean soldiers were sent to Russia to aid in their war against Ukraine. Plus the country has sent more including missiles and artillery. For sports, Donow will give Rams fans a run down on what's coming in sports including a preview of volleyball and football. Then to wrap up the show get your Fort Collins weather report from Weatherwax before the weekend rain storm hits.
