Dr. Laurence Rifkin on Oral care and mental health. We all participated in an informative podcast on the relationship between Oral and dental health to mental illness and the homeless. Dr. Rifkin relayed some of the most recent scientific studies on this topic. There is a direct link between oral health to physical and mental health. Our teeth and smiles have a very strong impact to how we feel about our face and our attractiveness. This of course affects our self-esteem. Our mouths are portals of entry for bacteria infections which affects both the mouth and the entire body. All of this information is well documented in scientific studies and not just anecdotal.
