In this episode, we talk about how trauma can affect you. (Possible Trigger alert) Renee shares a traumatic assault where she was stabbed and rape. Additionally, the perpetrator kept returning to her home, so it was ongoing fear/trauma.

When asked how Renee processed it, when she was in the hospital, she boldly stated…. “I’m not going to let this bastard ruin my life.”

We talk about ways to “be” with trauma so it doesn’t define you. After hearing women tell her that they can’t find love, get a job or have a happy life because they were raped, she decided to share the message and do the work so no one feels that again. So Renee built a whole business around teaching and speaking around surviving trauma. We talk about shame and how it gets carried, as well as ways to shift it.

You will find this episode valuable even if you have never experienced the assault like Renee did.

We discuss ways to manage trauma. One of the tools Renee shares is that YOU get to tell the story with a different ending, no matter what happened. For Renee, the meaning she made of this horrific event was that she was the perfect person to help others process their trauma.

Enjoy this honest conversation about a difficult topic, and see how one woman took the most horrific experience of her life and found the meaning in it so she could help others.

Because of the harrowing experience with a serial sexual predator, and decades of teaching, training and coaching, Renee Paser-Paull offers a unique combination of tools, insights and integrative activities that go beyond “Me too” and talk therapy. She provides the key to a like filled with jo, creativity and laughter for trauma survivors who want to break out of their personal prisons and thrive.

When not on a Zoom call, recording voiceovers, or writing her book, “Let Your Life Take Flight”, you may find Renee busting out a dance move, on a volleyball referee stand, or taking a walk in her lovely rural town with her husband - and when she’s lucky, with her teenage son.
