Let’s talk about adulting— actual adulting. Not just paying bills or keeping a houseplant alive, but the kind that involves emotional maturity, healthy boundaries, and conscious self-leadership. Because let’s be honest, most of us weren’t taught how to be fully functioning adults… and it shows. Joining us is Michelle Chalfant , licensed therapist turned holistic life coach, creator of The Adult Chair® model, and author of the new book The Adult Chair: Get Unstuck, Claim Your Power, and Transform Your Life . With millions reached through her podcast, coaching programs, and retreats, she’s here to walk us through the five pillars of being a healthy, grounded adult. Here’s the truth: being an adult isn’t about checking boxes or pretending you’re fine. It’s about owning your truth. Feeling your feelings. Practicing compassion without letting yourself off the hook. It’s about setting firm boundaries—with no need for justification—and recognizing that your triggers are not flaws, they’re clues. None of us were handed a guidebook for how to grow up emotionally. We inherited patterns from people who were figuring it out as they went. But what Michelle shares today is empowering: it’s never too late to unlearn what no longer serves you and become the adult you were meant to be. Whether you’re starting this work or knee-deep in your personal development era, this episode will meet you where you are—and help you move forward with clarity, self-trust, and strength. Elim Church exists to be a life-giving community taking steps on the journey to be more like Jesus.
God calls us into obedience to Him, in our walk, in our conduct, in our speech and in our giving. Yet if we will really let God take full control over our lives, over our heart, and over our finances, He will perform miracles with what we bring to Him. That is what is so incredible about Jesus.. He can take our smallest sacrifice, and create the most incredible surplus. We really hope you’ll hear Ps. Lukas’ message and plan to be a kingdom builder alongside Elim church.…
The church has always been marked by generosity. Radical giving that fuels the great commission to all corners of the world. Yet, in the last 30 years, we as people have become less generous and more concerned with holding onto our money. The truth is, christians are called to be generous.. the greater truth, money and giving says more about you and your relationship to the gospel than you realize - lets step into the gospel and be marked by generosity so we can be a kingdom building church once again.…
Not only is it baptism Sunday, but today we are joining with other 50 churches on Pentecost Sunday on what we believe is a historic day for our nation. We believe that baptism is a crucial step in everyone’s journey, and today we get to celebrate with heaven on this incredible Sunday.
It’s vision Sunday and we are looking ahead at all that God is calling Elim Church to be. In this sermon, Ps. Lukas casts vision over our church and helps us see that our vision although no different than the great commission still carries a specific heart that makes Elim Special. Elim is called to think globally, grow generationally and give generously. Join us this month as we discover more about what this means!…
Our series "Dear Church” started from a place of writing a letter to a church all about the thoughts and emotions someone has as they walk into and engage in their local church. What’s so powerful is we already have biblical texts of Paul, writing to his local churches with wisdom and thankfulness. Yet if we look closer.. there is a theme in most of his letters to all the churches. That theme, is boldness. Dear church, it’s time to be bold again.…
As we walk through a series about the local church, we need to look back at our first week on church hurt and ask ourselves where in our church practice have we maybe fallen short or gotten it flat out wrong? The local church should one end run and operate smoothly but also feel so intrinsically like a home to the people of God and a place strangers want to call home. The house of God is a place of healing! Growth! Comfort! We need to make sure we get back to that.…
You’ve maybe heard the saying “the local church is the hope of the world” and in this sermon we break down just how important the church is, and how badly our world needs hope. Hope is contagious, it’s powerful, it stirs up communities, families and nations. We need hope more than ever and the local church as a very important part to play in bringing hope to the world.…
Today we begin a three-part series all about God’s beautiful, messy, incredible masterpiece… the Church. At Elim, we believe in the Church—we believe it is the hope of the world, and we have a heart to see every person discover a deep passion for it. The truth is, the Church and its people haven’t always gotten it right. God’s people are not perfect, and within the place where people come to find hope and joy, there has also been hurt and pain. In this series, Ps. Lukas breaks down what church hurt is and how we can overcome the pain and tension within the body, becoming more like Jesus on a path toward unity and health within God’s house.…
Its a good day and we’ve got good news! Christ is risen, Jesus has won the battle and we all have new life in Christ Jesus. This easter message Ps. Lukas helps the disappointed, the dishearten and those who are still doubting to see the good news is staring all of us right in the face, and its our time to hear, receive and embrace the gospel in our lives!…
On the Friday of Holy Week, we sorrowfully remember the sacrifice and love of Christ on the cross. The moment cannot be understated and although we look back with heaviness as the weight of sin stares us right in the face. We remember...It is called “Good Friday” for what Christ has done, is a good and finished work on the cross.…
As we approach Easter weekend, we finally see in the scriptures a brief moment where Jesus allows himself to be fully known by all those around Him. He is embracing the worship and praise from many, yet even in what is a glorious day.. there are some who deny Him. At the end of the day, we play a part in making His good news known, because His good news deserves a good faithful praise.…
We are kicking off a brand new series all about GOOD NEWS. The gospel, the works of Jesus on the cross for you and me, is such good news, its worth sharing. And YET… it goes deeper! The miracle working power, the good news of change and transformation in our life from Jesus also needs to be shared! We are a good news church in a bad news world and in this series we break down what is the gospel, what does the gospel do and why it’s so important we share it!…
