ויהי בשלח פרעה את העם

  • Vayihi beshalach Paroh es ha’am, v’lo nacham Elokim derech eretz Plishtim”.
  • The experience of BN”Y in Mitzrayim, and Galus in general, is compared to planting. Planting is a process in which a small amount of seed produces, after a time, a large amount of produce. So too, the mission of BN”Y is to cause a Giliu Elokus in this world, which is “planted” in Galus and which bears fruit by Moshiach.
  • The Chayus of Kelipah/Akum is from Tohu, (which allows them to have a greater connection to physicality and a lesser one to Elokus) which is higher than the expression of Torah and Mitzvos which descends through Seder Hishtalshelus in order that some of it be revealed in this world (more revealed Elokus, less of a relation to physicality).
  • Through our engagement with the physical world, in honest business, Torah, Mitzvot, and Tzedaka, using our physical possession as means to connect to Hashem, and refraining from those aspects of the physical world that make Hashem’s presence less of a reality, we elevate the nitzotzos of Tohu that are scattered throughout our world. This is also the level of Teshuvah, Mesiras Nefesh, and Ahavah d’Bchol Meodcha.
  • Just as a seed needs to decompose before the process of growth can begin, so too, to access the power of growth within ourselves (i.e. that ability to uplift the physical world) we need to experience merirus, which leads to rachmanus, and then Ahava and Simcha, all of which is proper fuel for our elevation of the world.
  • Im l’ovrei ritzono…: although we now experience a less secure physical existence than do Non-Jews (who receive their chayus from a level in Elokus which is beyond distinctions), through our Avodah, which now seems limited, we elevate the physical world itself, whose infinite power is revealed by Moshiach.
  • “Beshalach Paro”: Paroh (Galus) is what the means through which we cause a whole new level of Gilui Elokus through elevating the world.
  • v’lo nahcham Elokim derech eretz Plishtim”: Plishtim in avodah= unbridled love for Hashem. However, there is a fine line between Plisthim in Kedusha and Plisthim ion Kelippah, which expresses itself as a carefree, frivolous attitude.
  • Bypassing “Plishtim”= not attempting to reach levels of religious experience that one cannot reach. To achieve true Joy in and Love for Elokus, one needs to work. This requires Kabolas Ol, Torah, Mitzvos (Yam Suf), Merirus and Teshvah (Midbar). Only after this can one achieve a true level of Love and connection with Hashem (Eretz Cenaan), which is much greater than Erets Plishtim.

Concepts

  1. We are planters: we sow the seeds of Birur, and we will see the fruits by Moshiach.
  2. The difference between the hashpaah of Jews and Non-Jews.
  3. Avodas HaMerirus.
  4. You cannot achieve a true emotional connection to Hashem without putting in the hard work.
