Today is allll about the Bible and I am geeking out about it! You all know that I LOVE talking Bible and how you can be excited about getting into it. My friend Liz is all about the same thing... teaching you how to be in scripture! Our conversation is one you can't miss!
Liz Cobo is Bible teacher and writer focused on encouraging Christian women to become biblically literate through daily study of God's Word. Liz is currently writing her first book on the topic of contentment and is a student in the Christian Apologetics Master's Degree program at the Talbott School of Theology at Biola University.
Here are my take away notes from our chat!
- the Bible can feel overwhelming, remember that you learn as you go along so stay consistent in your time with God
- Daily Disciplined Devotion to being in God's word is KEY!
- Being in scripture gets you up close to Jesus
- the Bible is focused on God not you.... the Bible is written FOR us not to us or about us - get your mindset in the correct perspective to receive what it says
- Commentaries & word studies are great ways to go deeper in your scripture reading
- Devotionals & Bible studies are the dessert of getting into the Word of God - you need to be in the Bible outside of those things
- Ask God to reveal more of himself to you through prayer before you ever open up your Bible to read
