Today's Brew🍺: Delirium Tremens

About the Brewery:

Founded in 1654, Huyghe Brewery has evolved from its early days in Melle, near Ghent, to become a beacon of brewing innovation. Acquired by Leon Huyghe in 1906, the brewery underwent significant transformations, including surviving war requisitions and adapting to changing beer tastes. By 1988, Huyghe had introduced the world-renowned Delirium Tremens, with its famous pink elephant symbol, marking a new era of global recognition.

Today, led by Alain De Laet, Huyghe is known for its diverse array of beers, from traditional pils to exotic fruit beers and organic offerings, producing over 50 different types under its roof. The brewery prides itself on its ability to blend tradition with innovation, producing up to 23 mother beers and leveraging unique ingredients like quinoa and mango. Its expansive product line caters to a global audience, with 80% of its turnover coming from exports.
